Extended Reality (XR) is a field that encompasses Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality technologies. XR tools have the potential to revolutionize education through the medium’s enhanced ability to visualize content in 3D space, enhance collaboration workflows, and accurately simulate real-life environments.
Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) or engineering simulation, provides powerful
capabilities for the tasks leading to the simulation, validation, and optimization of
products. It does so by offering predictive insights into the underlying physical
phenomena ranging from structural stresses, fluid flow, and heat transfer, to electromagnetics.
New technologies continue to emerge that have the potential to alter, if not completely revolutionize the modes in which we teach. This funding opportunity allows faculty to bring their daring ideas in the realm of educational innovations to fruition more quickly.
