Course Description:
Through online modules, faculty and alumni engagements, and discussion sessions led by upper-level engineering undergraduates, students learn about: the foundations of engineering and its influence on society; the engineering majors, minors and co-curricular opportunities offered at Michigan; and, the roles that personal strengths, values, ethics, and social identity play in personal and professional decision-making. Students incorporate this information into a personalized plan for their educational experience in Michigan Engineering.

GSI Information
Understanding of the course content and structure is necessary, thus GSI positions are only offered to incoming and current graduate students that taught the course as undergraduates. Qualified students are contacted by the Office of First Year Programs with a link to the application. If you are a qualified student, you will receive an email roughly mid-February. GSIs are hired for either a full academic year, or the fall semester only. All offers are contingent upon a successful background check.
